Why I am running....

My name is Jean Hruz and I am running for Harford County Board of Education, District A.  My children attended Joppatowne area schools and graduated from Joppatowne High School.  I strongly believe that a good education is a great leveler in society.  No matter a child's circumstances, a good education will set them on the path to success.

I decided to run for School Board because the last few years have brought to light some serious concerns with HCPS.  Too often, our School Board appears to ignore the genuine needs of parents, families, and students. Schools need to be child-focused.  Parents must have the right to participate in the education of their children.  I support age-appropriate learning and curriculum transparency. Safety is paramount as well.  Our teachers, staff, and students must feel safe at school!

We need to get back to the quality education Harford County is known for and that makes it a great place to live.
